Driver/Fitter

• Pay Rate: £12.93 per hr paye

Bolton Council is seeking two Driver/Fitters to join the Integrated Community Equipment Service team. This role is crucial in providing essential services across the borough, helping maintain the independence of service users in their own homes. The position involves delivering, installing, and collecting disability equipment, ensuring the safety and comfort of our community.

• Select and load stock items onto council vehicles, ensuring safety and security.
• Deliver and fit disability equipment throughout the Bolton borough.
• Collect disability equipment when no longer required.
• Maintain transport log sheets and vehicle cleanliness.
• Work rota’d hours, including weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Assist with the decontamination and maintenance of equipment when necessary.
• Perform daily routine checks and plan journey schedules for council vehicles.
• Inspect adaptive equipment on site for any faults or damage.
• Conduct PAT testing on all electrical adaptive equipment in service users' homes.

• Must hold a full UK driving licence and pass a driving assessment as part of the selection process.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Physically fit, as the role requires lifting heavy items.
• Ability to adhere to safety protocols and handle sensitive equipment carefully.
