Design Technology Teacher with TLR - Uxbridge, London

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a well-established and innovative secondary school near Uxbridge who are seeking a dedicated Design Technology (DT) Teacher to join their team in September. This is a full-time position with a long-term or permanent contract, and includes a Teaching and Learning Responsibility (TLR) for the right candidate.

The school specialises in technical and STEM education, offering a unique learning environment that closely connects students with industry partners and real-world projects. With a strong focus on practical learning and career readiness, the school fosters a culture of innovation, creativity, and ambition.

• Full-time role starting September 2025

• Long-term or permanent position

• Salary in line with Outer London MPS/UPS, with TLR available

• Working hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm

• On-site parking available

• Open to early career teachers and experienced practitioners

• Deliver engaging, hands-on lessons in Product Design, Engineering, or Resistant Materials, preparing students for both academic and vocational pathways.

• Foster students' problem-solving and creative thinking skills through project-based learning and modern DT tools.

• Lead a specialist area or initiative within the DT department as part of your TLR role.

• Build positive, professional relationships with students, inspiring them to pursue careers in design, engineering, or manufacturing.

• Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and future-focused school culture, where students are challenged and supported to excel.

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

• Specialism in DT or a related subject (e.g., Product Design, Engineering, Construction)

• Passion for design and innovation with strong practical skills

• Excellent classroom management and communication skills

• Confidence leading an area of responsibility or keen to take the next step
