Job Description - Early Years SEND Practitioner

Early Years SEND Officer - Kent
Full-Time, Temporary Contract | Mobile Role | Must Hold a Full UK Driving Licence and Have Access to a Car with Business Insurance

Are you passionate about making a difference in the early lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? We're looking for an experienced and confident Early Years practitioner to join a dynamic and supportive Early Years SEND team.

About the Role:
As an Early Years SEND Officer, you'll play a vital role in providing early intervention and statutory support for children with SEND. You'll work directly with Early Years settings including day nurseries, preschools, and childminders, offering expert guidance and modelling strategies to support children's development. You'll also contribute to smooth and effective transitions for children moving into school.

This is a mobile role, and you will be required to travel independently to various early years settings. A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle with business insurance is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a personal caseload across multiple Early Years settings
  • Conduct observations and provide tailored advice to support children's individual needs
  • Work collaboratively with practitioners to build capacity within settings
  • Promote the use of strategies, resources, and training to improve the quality of provision
  • Maintain accurate case records and measure the impact of interventions
  • Operate independently while also contributing to a busy and supportive team

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven experience working in an Early Years setting
  • Strong understanding of child development and SEND best practices
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Confident in using IT systems for record keeping and tracking progress
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car with business insurance (role is mobile)
