Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children and young people? We are seeking a Return Home Interview Practitioner to support children who go missing, ensuring their voices are heard and their safety is prioritised.

As a Return Home Interview Practitioner, you will provide independent advocacy and support for children and young people following missing episodes. You will conduct child-centred return home interviews, identify key concerns, and work collaboratively with social workers, police, and other professionals to influence care planning and improve outcomes.

• Conduct return home interviews with children and young people who go missing.

• Identify and record the reasons behind missing episodes, ensuring these insights inform care planning.

• Provide flexible and creative engagement strategies to support children.

• Maintain accurate records and share intelligence with relevant professionals.

• Educate and advise young people on the risks associated with running away.

• Work alongside families and service providers to ensure children's needs are met holistically.

• Represent the service in various settings, promoting its positive impact.

• Support the development and use of Young People's Centres by external agencies and partners.

• Experience working with vulnerable children and young people.

• Strong communication and engagement skills.

• Ability to build trusting relationships and advocate for young people.

• Knowledge of safeguarding practices and missing from home protocols.

• Experience working alongside social services, police, or similar agencies is desirable.
