This is predominantly home based, although candidates must be available for site surveys, Factory Acceptance Tests and meetings in Manchester approximately two or three times per month. Responsibilities • Lead electrical, instrumentation and control design activities. • Produce outline and detailed EICA design documentation. • Review and approve engineering deliverables. • Prepare equipment specifications, requisitions and installation scopes. • Review supplier quotations and complete technical bid assessments. • Attend site surveys and Factory Acceptance Tests. • Ensure designs comply with specifications, legislation and applicable standards. • Support construction, commissioning and multidisciplinary project teams. • Allocate work and monitor delivery against programme. Requirements • Extensive recent UK water-sector EICA design experience. • Approximately 15 years’ relevant engineering experience. • Degree, apprenticeship or equivalent electrical, electronic or control engineering qualification. • Chartered or Incorporated status, or demonstrable progress towards it. • Strong client-facing and technical leadership capabilities. • Knowledge of WIMES, ATEX, CE/UKCA compliance and relevant UK legislation. • Able to travel for occasional Manchester meetings and site visits. Outside-IR35 engagement may be considered subject to formal assessment and supporting documentation.
