Job Description - Electrical Engineer

Electrical Engineer
Location: Barrow-in-Furness or Filton (Bristol)
Duration: 12 months
Rate: £60 PAYE or £81.05
Working Arrangements: Hybrid – 2 days every 2 weeks on site

What you’ll be doing:

Lead and manage the day-to-day activities of an electrical power systems engineering team.
Support the Engineering Manager in delivering high-quality design and analysis for platform power systems.
Develop and maintain team capability, project plans, and schedules while resolving technical and delivery issues.
Produce high-standard design documentation including diagrams, technical specs, justifications, and calculations.
Ensure compliance with contractual, safety, environmental, and business process requirements.
Perform technical reviews, presentations, and system acceptance activities.
Support bids and proposals through accurate work estimation and planning.

What we’re looking for:Knowledge:

Understanding of power system modelling, generators, switchgear, protection, or power electronics.
Familiarity with defence standards (advantageous but not essential).
Strong technical report writing and documentation skills.
Experience across the engineering lifecycle from design to commissioning.
BEng (Hons) / MEng or equivalent – Expected
Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards – Preferred
