Job Description - Employee Relations Advisor

Are you an experienced HR Advisor seeking a role to develop your advisory CV within a manufacturing organisation? Our client who are a leader in British engineering, are looking for a Employee Relations Advisor to join their people services team in Plymouth. This is your chance to build unrivalled experience in an employee relations focused role, allowing you to build your HR career.

About the Role

This role is an essential role in cultivating a positive and productive workplace culture where sickness, and absenteeism is addressed proactively with the workforce. As a hands-on position, it is responsible for ensuring the effective resolution of all Employee Relations cases.

Key Responsibilities

As a HR Advisor, you'll be responsible for:

  • Employee Relations Case Work: Support managers in performance improvement and disciplinary actions, specifically in relation to sickness and absence. Develop and deliver targeted action plans to reduce sickness absence.
  • Employee Support & Conflict Resolution: Provide advice around workplace issues, mediate conflicts, and investigate grievances.
  • Policy Development & Compliance: Develop, update, and enforce HR policies and Advise management on policy matters.
  • Employment Relations Case Management: Manage a range of complex and contentious matters with high-level
  • Absence Management: Proactively identify and implement service improvements in absence management.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain records and report on employee relations trends, and KPI's.
  • Advisory & Consultation: Advise managers and employees on employee relations matters.

What You'll Bring To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • Essential:
  • A CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Demonstrable experience in employee relations, grievance and disciplinary cases.
  • Desirable:
  • A CIPD Level 5 qualification (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience in the manufacturing sector.

This role is in office 5 days per week in Plymouth.
