Job Description - Employee Relations Advisor

Employee Relations Advisor
Location: Kingston (Hybrid)
Contract Length: 3+ Months
Pay Rate: £23 per hour (Umbrella)
Start Date: ASAP

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Employee Relations Advisor to join Kingston Council on a 3+ month contract. This hybrid role is ideal for a confident HR professional with a strong background in employee relations, looking to support a large public sector organisation through complex casework and change.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide consistent, high-quality advice and support to managers on a range of employee relations issues, including disciplinary, grievance, performance, absence, and conduct.

  • Support the end-to-end management of ER cases in line with council policies and employment legislation.

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for all casework, ensuring compliance with data and confidentiality standards.

  • Work collaboratively with other HR professionals, managers, and stakeholders to achieve timely, effective outcomes.

  • Contribute to the review and improvement of ER policies, processes, and best practice guidance.

Essential Skills & Experience:
  • Proven track record in a similar ER Advisor or HR Advisor role, ideally within the public sector.

  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.

  • Ability to manage a high volume of cases, working independently and to deadlines.

  • Excellent communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with HR systems and Microsoft Office applications.
