Hays are working with a pioneering leading Public Sector Organisation to recruit an Employment Solicitor for the Corporate services.

Your new role
In your new role, you will work independently, under the guidance of a Senior Solicitor, to provide high-quality legal services across the organisation. You will offer expert legal advice, assistance, and representation on various employment law matters.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertaking and assisting in the provision of professional and timely expert legal advice and representation on a wide range of employment matters, including non-contentious advisory work and acting in defence of employment-related proceedings.
• Carrying out research into legal issues and providing strategic and timely opinion papers and advice to clients.
• Drafting tribunal proceedings/pleadings, collating discoveries, assisting in the preparation of witness statements, preparing briefs for counsel and trial bundles.
• Working with other members of the legal services team and providing advice and assistance in respect of ongoing general litigation, as and when the need arises.
• Preparing appropriate business cases, tenders and quotations, in line with financial and procurement regulations, policies and procedures and corporate timescales.

Required Skills and Knowledge:

• A solicitor of the Court of Judicature of Northern Ireland qualified to practice in Northern Ireland.
• Minimum 3 years PQE.
• Experience dealing with a range of employment law matters.
• Ability to multitask and adapt quickly.
• Experience managing clients and internal stakeholders.
