Rate: £50-£60 per hour - Negotiable DOE

Contract Length: 3-month initial contract

Spencer Clarke Group are currently working with a Southwest based local authority, who are in need of an Employment Solicitor. The successful candidate will manage their own caseload, advise internal clients on complex legal issues, and assist with maintaining strong service relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Deal with a small number of ET claims varying from equal pay, unfair dismissal, discrimination and harassment.
• Judicial mediation, preliminary hearings and preparation for final hearings.
• Advice on TUPE provisions in contracts and TUPE clarification questions arising from procurement processes and complex grievances.
• Advocacy before tribunals and committees is also expected where appropriate.

Key Requirements

• UK-qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or FCILEx with a current practising certificate
• Experience advising on complex legal matters, working under pressure and managing competing deadlines.
• Previous experience providing legal advice to a local authority (Desirable).
