English Teacher - Maternity Cover

[School Name] is seeking a passionate and dedicated English Teacher to join our vibrant and supportive English department on a maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire and engage students across Key Stages 3 and 4, delivering high-quality English language and literature lessons.

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons in line with the national curriculum.

• Teach across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential for some Key Stage 5 depending on experience and need.

• Monitor and assess student progress, providing effective feedback and support to ensure academic achievement.

• Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters a love for reading and writing.

• Collaborate with colleagues in the English department to develop and share resources and best practices.

• Participate in school events, meetings, and parent evenings as required.

• Maintain high standards of behaviour, discipline, and safeguarding within the classroom and wider school community.

Essential:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• A degree in English or a related subject

• Experience teaching English at secondary level

• Strong classroom management and communication skills

• A commitment to inclusive education and the wellbeing of all students

Desirable:

• Experience teaching GCSE English Language and Literature

• Familiarity with current educational trends and assessment frameworks

• Willingness to contribute to extracurricular activities and whole-school initiatives
