Estate Services Gardener

• Hourly Rate: £12.56 PAYE
• Location: Broxbourne and Enfield area
• Job Type: Full-time, Immediate Start

We are seeking an Estate Services Gardener for a national housing association. This role is based in the Broxbourne and Enfield areas and offers an immediate start. The purpose of this role is to provide an effective, responsive, and pro-active customer-focused gardening service that maintains consistently high standards.

• Carry out a program of assigned grounds maintenance works in line with published schedules.
• Perform seasonal gardening activities such as planting summer and winter beds, maintaining hedges, turf maintenance, weed spraying/weeding, and leafing.
• Apply and store chemicals in accordance with the Pesticides Regulations Act, DEFRA, and company guidelines.
• Operate and maintain powered and manual hand tools, specialised plant, and other equipment following manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Ensure green waste is removed and disposed of in line with company policy and waste management regulations.
• Keep estates and communal areas clean, tidy, litter and weed-free, in accordance with local cleaning and grounds maintenance schedules.
• Assist in the identification and development of soft and hard landscaping.
• Work as part of a team, contributing suggestions and ideas for improvements in service provision.
• Respond to emergencies and report any works requiring specialist attention such as tree pruning, equipment defects, vandalism, and graffiti.
• Adhere to company health and safety procedures & guidelines, reporting any potential hazards.
• Undertake all appropriate security checks and deal promptly with any hazards.
• Report all maintenance, building, or structural defects requiring specialist repair.

• Experience in grounds maintenance or a similar role.
• Knowledge of planting and maintaining seasonal beds and general turf maintenance.
• Familiarity with the use and maintenance of gardening tools and equipment.
• Understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly relating to chemical use and waste disposal.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and customer service orientation.
