Estate Services Operative

Manchester City Council are looking for three Estates Services Operatives to join our team on a full-time basis for the next three months. This role involves providing high-quality janitorial services to communal areas of buildings managed by MCC housing services, as well as gardening, grounds maintenance, and waste clearance across all housing property stock.

• Provide scheduled and reactive janitorial services to communal areas.
• Perform gardening and common area grounds maintenance and improvement works.
• Carry out waste clearance of tipped or discarded materials, including bulky household items.
• Undertake a range of planned or reactive miscellaneous tasks as requested.
• Plan and programme the work of the team, ensuring clear communication of work priorities and service objectives.
• Work collaboratively with other neighbourhood-focused services to enhance the quality of the local environment.
• Deal efficiently and courteously with public enquiries, providing effective and accurate information and advice on a range of council services.
• Use and maintain a range of mechanical equipment to ensure environments are effectively and efficiently cleaned and maintained.
• Develop community awareness by reporting incidents and situations that may impact the wellbeing of residents, visitors, and businesses.

• Full UK driving licence and capability to drive a Ford Transit tipper-sized vehicle.
• Experience in janitorial services, gardening, and grounds maintenance.
• Ability to work collaboratively and support the development of team culture.
• Strong communication skills to effectively manage team plans and public interactions.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety requirements, legislation, and City Council policies.
• You will need to be physically fit and healthy, as you will need to lift heavy items and will be working outside
