Executive Support Assistant
  • Hourly Rate: £14.84 PAYE
  • Location: Huddersfield / Hybrid working
  • Job Type: Full-time

Join our Local Authority team as an Executive Support Assistant, providing crucial support to the Chief Executive and the Council's Executive leadership team. This role is an integral part of our business support structure, requiring a skilled individual who thrives in a dynamic, political environment.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and executive support services including diary management, email management, agenda planning, minute taking, and organising meetings.
  • Plan, develop, monitor, and review the use of financial resources to ensure efficient operation.
  • Navigate and operate effectively within a political environment, understanding the nuances and requirements of working in local government.
  • Produce routine and statistical reports, demonstrating strong literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Deliver excellent customer service, acting as a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prioritise and manage workload to meet tight deadlines, maintaining high standards of work.
  • Work flexibly and adaptably within a team, supporting team members and contributing to a positive working environment.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in providing administrative and executive support in a large organisation.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent literacy and numeracy skills, capable of producing detailed reports and statistical information.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to understand and engage with political sensitivities within a local government context.
  • Flexible and adaptable, able to adjust to changing priorities and demands.
  • Commitment to the Council's core behaviours: being positive, honest, respectful, flexible, communicative, and supportive.
