Job Opportunity: Fitness Coach (Special Needs Experience Required)

Full-Time | Immediate Start
We are currently seeking a motivated and compassionate Fitness Coach to join our team at a specialist school that supports children and young people with additional and complex needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone passionate about using physical activity to improve wellbeing, confidence, and overall development.
About the Role:
As a Fitness Coach, you will deliver structured, inclusive fitness and sports sessions tailored to meet the diverse needs of our students. Many of the young people have experienced trauma and may face challenges related to anxiety, behaviour, and mental health. You will play a vital role in helping them engage positively with physical activity in a safe, supportive environment.
Key Requirements:
* Minimum of 6 months UK-based experience in a similar role
* Proven experience working with children or young people with special educational needs, including trauma, anxiety, behavioural difficulties, and mental health needs
* Experience with physical intervention techniques (Team Teach or equivalent training essential)
* Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle (no public transport access to the school)
* Resilient, calm, and adaptable with a genuine commitment to inclusion
Responsibilities:
* Plan and lead engaging fitness and sports sessions adapted to individual abilities and emotional needs
* Promote physical health, wellbeing, and teamwork in a nurturing environment
* Collaborate with teaching staff and therapists to support each pupil's development
* Use de-escalation strategies and physical intervention appropriately and safely when required
