The Exhibition Producer is responsible for developing and delivering exhibitions and events in the public realm areas of the University. The post holder may also deliver exhibitions at an other campus or at off-site venues.
The post holder will lead the exhibition development process — from content creation and interpretation through to design and installation — ensuring that exhibitions, events, and public activities are delivered on time and within budget. For exhibitions led by students and academic staff from across the wider community, the Exhibition Producer will provide guidance and support to ensure these projects meet consistently high standards.
Duties and responsibilities:The postholder will oversee the production and presentation of exhibitions and programming across the University's key public spaces, ensuring alignment with the aims and objectives of the Public Art, Culture, and Community Engagement team. This role requires a strong curatorial and production mindset, with a keen eye for detail, design, and audience engagement.
The postholder will join a team dedicated to strengthening engagement between universities and communities, with the aim of stimulating critical debate around research and teaching through arts, cultural and community engagement. Our goal is to create opportunities for communities to collaborate with us—particularly those who may not typically engage with a university—helping to increase understanding of the benefits of partnership and shared learning.

Criteria
Qualifications, Experience and knowledge
A degree or relevant experience including report writing and presentation skills.
Experience of working in the HE sector is prefable
Exhibition curation design and delivery
Experience of managing budgets
Comprehensive working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook
A sound knowledge of relevant health and safety regulation
Skills and/or Abilities
Excellent team working skills, and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to work creatively to programme and produce innovative and engaging exhibitions/ displays/events and interventions
Proven ability to plan, prioritise and manage a demanding and varied workload
Ability to lead, guide and develop a multidisciplinary team to achieve an agreed goal
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and accurately to a diverse range of stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal, advising and influencing skills, including the ability to deal effectively and appropriately with a variety of colleagues and establish good working relationships with people from a wide range of disciplines
Ability to identify potential problems and suggest and implement improvements and solutions
Ability to learn and use new IT, AV and digital systems including design packages such as Abode/InDesign
Experience
Experience of developing, installing and managing 2D and 3D multimedia installations and exhibitions
Experience of working in non-gallery spaces to create exhibitions and installations
Experience of managing reputational risk around associated exhibition content and design
