EYFS Teaching Assistant - Independent Primary School (Islington)

An Independent Primary School in Islington is seeking an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a term-time only position, Monday to Friday, working mainly with pupils in Early Years.

The School is well-regarded for its holistic learning approach, strong pastoral care, and inclusive ethos. With two sites across Islington, it offers children a nurturing environment that balances academic learning with creativity, independence, and emotional development. Pupils are supported by both teaching staff and a wide range of external therapists and learning professionals, creating a rich and well-rounded educational experience.

• Term-time only, Monday to Friday

• Hours: 7:30am - 3:00pm (with 55-minute break)

• Primarily based in EYFS at one site, with occasional support across Years 1-4 at the second site

• Pay: £116 per day

• Supporting children through observations, adult-led and child-initiated learning, and promoting independence

• Assisting with lunchtime duties, outings, and whole-school events

• Safeguard and promote the welfare, safety, and progress of all children

• Support learning through play and structured activities

• Prepare and maintain stimulating learning environments, resources, and displays

• Participate in child-led play, encouraging social and emotional development

• Contribute to planning meetings and work closely with teachers and colleagues

• Maintain door security and follow safeguarding protocols at all times

• A positive, caring, and proactive approach to supporting young children

• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, showing initiative and flexibility

• Passion for holistic learning and supporting children's individual needs

• Commitment to the ethos and wider life of the school, including enrichment activities and events
