Join a specialist manufacturing business in Lincoln and take on a pivotal role as their Facilities and Maintenance Manager. This hands-on position places you at the heart of a progressive organisation, driving operational excellence and ensuring the reliability of the facility. With the opportunity to transition to a permanent role, you will lead critical maintenance operations, shape business continuity, and make a lasting impact in a high-precision manufacturing environment renowned for innovation and quality.
As a key member of the leadership team, you will oversee the maintenance of site infrastructure, including buildings, utilities, safety systems, and grounds, ensuring compliance and operational efficiency. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will develop robust Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules, manage the Permit to Work system for high-risk tasks and supervise contractors to uphold safety standards.
Leading a small team of maintenance and workshop professionals, you will foster a safety-first culture while managing an engineering workshop to produce jigs, tools, and fixtures for production. You will also respond swiftly to equipment breakdowns and drive continuous improvement to enhance reliability, with occasional out-of-hours responsibilities as a trusted keyholder for emergency site access.
We seek a proven facilities and maintenance manager with experience in a manufacturing environment and a strong grasp of statutory compliance. You will need hands-on expertise in mechanical or electrical systems, proficiency in conducting risk assessments, and experience managing contractors and service providers.
Knowledge of TPM and SMED methodologies is essential, alongside the ability to prioritise workloads to meet business needs. A relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND) and a health and safety qualification (NEBOSH/IOSH) are required, complemented by strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills to inspire your team and engage stakeholders. This role offers a competitive annual salary of £45,000 to £50,000, working Monday to Thursday, 8:00am to 5:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 12noon, offering an excellent work-life balance.
