Job Opportunity: Maintenance Operative / Handy Person

Location: Borehamwood, WD6 1DJ
Hours: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 40 hours per week
Pay: £15.87 PAYE / £20 Umbrella PAYE per hour

Job Purpose:As a Facilities Management Maintenance Operative, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day operations of large, occupied sites. You will provide excellent customer service, liaise with employees and contractors, and take pride in maintaining your site.

Role Summary:
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Managing all aspects of internal and external posts on site.
• Providing and recording inductions for contractors and visitors.
• Liaising with the wider team and contractors to ensure reactive jobs are completed.
• Conducting site inspections and raising issues with the Regional Manager.
• Representing the Facilities Management function and delivering high-level customer service.
• Escalating building or service concerns to the team.
• Performing basic cleaning of kitchen and toilet areas.
• Conducting minor fabric repairs (e.g., tightening door handles, replacing toilet seats).
• Handling minor electrical tasks (e.g., replacing desktop fuses, checking power supplies).
• Performing minor plumbing tasks (e.g., unblocking toilets, isolating water supplies).
• Adjusting HVAC systems and assisting with fire alarm tests.
• Undertaking any reasonable tasks requested within normal working hours, logged onto the CAFM system.
