Job Description - Faculty Administration Officer

this is a temporary assignment to start ASAP ongoing until the end of SeptemberFaculty Administrative Officer
  • Hourly rate : £21.62 ph
  • Location: East London
  • Job Type: Full-time - Hybrid working available

A leading global university is seeking a Faculty Administrative Officer for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Faculty. This role is central to providing high-level organisational and administrative support to the Faculty's Leadership and Senior Management Team.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Provide direct support to the Dean for Education and two Deputy Deans, managing the rollout of institutional and faculty strategies.
  • Manage faculty schemes such as Studentships and Student Bursaries, ensuring timely completion and payment.
  • Organise and manage key faculty events and meetings, including preparation of agendas, minute taking, and follow-up actions.
  • Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders, both internal and external, to maintain effective communication and collaboration.
  • Provide administrative support for the Paris campus, ensuring compliance with international standards.
  • Manage the administration of academic recruitment, honorary and visiting appointments, and faculty collaboration partnerships.
  • Oversee financial records and budget management for the faculty, ensuring adherence to financial regulations.
  • Participate in meetings and working groups, representing faculty issues effectively.
  • Undertake project work to support the strategic objectives of the Faculty.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in a similar administrative or organisational role, preferably within an educational or academic setting.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building and maintaining relationships.
  • Proficiency in financial and administrative software, such as Agresso.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, showing initiative and flexibility.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement
