Job Summary:
⢠Birmingham Childrenâs Trust is seeking a Family Support Worker (Grade 4) to join their team on a temporary contract from 09/02/2026 to 20/03/2026.
⢠This role offers the opportunity to work with families to support childrenâs welfare and development, contributing to the Trustâs Good Ofsted\-rated services.
⢠The position is full\-time, 36.5 hours per week, based at One Avenue, Birmingham, with regular working hours of 08:45â17:15.
Key Duties/Accountabilities (Sample):
⢠Provide practical support, guidance, and advice to children and families in line with Trust policies.
⢠Assist in assessing family needs and implementing support plans.
⢠Work collaboratively with social workers, schools, and other agencies to promote positive outcomes for children.
⢠Deliver interventions aimed at improving parenting skills, family relationships, and child wellbeing.
⢠Maintain accurate case notes and records, ensuring compliance with Trust and statutory requirements.
⢠Attend meetings and contribute to multi\-agency team discussions and reviews.
⢠Support children and families in crisis situations, providing guidance and signposting to appropriate services.
⢠Monitor and evaluate progress against set goals and outcomes.
Skills/Experience:
⢠Previous experience in family support, social care, or childrenâs services.
⢠Knowledge of child welfare, safeguarding, and child protection legislation.
⢠Ability to assess family needs and implement appropriate interventions.
⢠Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including working with vulnerable families.
⢠Experience in multi\-agency working and collaboration with external organisations.
⢠Competent in record keeping and report writing in line with statutory requirements.
⢠Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and prioritise tasks.
⢠Empathy, patience, and a commitment to improving outcomes for children and families.
