This role involves providing direct support to children, young people, and families who are under a Child in Need Plan or at risk of entering Local Authority care. The position is crucial in helping families enhance parenting capacity, strengthen relationships, prevent family breakdown, and ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.
Responsibilities
Deliver direct support to children (including pre\-school aged), parents, carers, and extended family members as part of assessments, plans, or reviews.
Encourage and empower parents/carers to take responsibility for meeting their childrenâs needs.
Provide structured parenting support to strengthen family functioning and resilience.
Support families experiencing a high risk of breakdown and help reduce the escalation of safeguarding concerns.
Contribute to keeping children safe through assessment, planning, and regular review.
Essential Experience Required
Significant experience working directly with children and families within a team or partner agency.
Proven ability to deliver family support interventions that improve outcomes.
Experience delivering parenting skills or programmes.
Essential Qualifications Required
NVQ Level 3 in Childcare, Early Years, Social Care, or equivalent relevant experience.
