Finance Assistant

Finance Assistnat based in Telford. The salary is up to £30,000 per annum (pro rata). This role is initially 6-month contract for a big, household name company.

We are seeking a meticulous and organised Finance Assistant to join my client's finance team as a matter of urgency. This is a critical role where you will play a key part in managing our company's financial operations by ensuring timely and accurate processing of supplier invoices and payments.

Some of the key responsibilities:

• Process and verify invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
• Maintain and manage the Accounts Payable ledger.
• Prepare, reconcile, and process payments to vendors.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies with suppliers and other departments.
• Assist with month-end closing activities, including account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with relevant tax regulations and reporting requirements.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Ideal profile:

• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable or similar finance role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
