Finance Assistant

I am delighted to be supporting a local organisation in their search for a temporary Finance Assistant until July. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience in finance looking for a varied, hands on finance role.

Client Details

My client is an organisation based in Dudley, and the successful candidate will be joining a friendly, close knit team. The are fully onsite, and can offer the successful candidate a flexible approach to working, i.e. with working hours.

Description

The Finance Assistant will report directly to the Head of Finance and duties will include but are not limited to:

• Being responsible for the Purchase Ledger function, posting invoices and matching to the purchase orders.
• Preparation of BACS payments
• Authorising new supplier accounts and maintaining existing supplier accounts details
• To be proactive in the reconciliation of supplier statements
• Assisting in the preparation of monthly VAT returns
• Processing staff expenses
• Processing other financial transactions to include journals, credit card expenditure, income postings, cashbook receipts and payments, and bank reconciliations.

Profile

The successful candidate will:

• Have demonstrated experience working in a similar role in finance
• Have experience working within a busy finance team
• Understand general accounting principles
• Be competent on Microsoft Excel
• Have excellent interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)

Job Offer

The successful candidate can expect an hourly rate c£14.00-15.50 p/h + a full time role + flexible working hours + onsite parking + an immediate start
