Job Description - Finance Assistant

Finance Assistant
Small Heath
Temporary – 12 weeks ongoing (with potential to go permanent)
£26,000 – £27,000 PA (paid hourly equivalent)
Full-time | 3 days on-site, 2 days from home

We’re working with a well-established business based in Small Heath, who are looking to appoint a Finance Assistant on a temporary basis with strong potential for the role to become permanent.
This is a varied position combining both finance and administrative responsibilities — ideal for someone with a strong attention to detail who enjoys supporting across multiple areas.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Duties:

Processing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Completing Bank Reconciliations
Supporting with month-end processes
Resolving invoice queries and liaising with suppliers/customers

Admin Duties:

Maintaining accurate records and internal databases
Supporting wider team with internal projects
Managing shared inboxes and occasional incoming calls
Organising meetings and assisting with small-scale event coordination
Filing, scanning, and archiving financial documents

What You’ll Need

Experience in a similar finance support or admin role
Good working knowledge of Excel and accounting systems
Strong communication skills and a proactive mindset
Available to start immediately
