Finance Manager

Reed Finance are partnered exclusively with a client based in Oxfordshire to recruit a Finance Manager. This is a standalone, full-time, office based, maternity cover from Sept 2025 to Sept 2026. The company is a leading designer and manufacturer with their main customers being in the research community. They believe in offering the best service across the board: high quality products, customer support inclusive of a gold standard service from their expert technical teams.

You’ll be able to manage a team of two assistant accountants and an office admin, creating timely reports of figures to the board and other stakeholders and manging compliance to processes company wide.

Working Patterns

This fully office-based role offers flexible nominated hours e.g. 7am–3:30pm or 9am–5:30pm. Monday to Thursday, standard hours are 8am to 4:30pm, Fridays are 8am to 1pm.

Key Responsibilities

• Close monitoring of company cash flow and production of weekly forecast
• Month-end Management Accounts
• Control of internal processes and procedures
• Generating and gaining approval of the annual budget
• Working with external accountants on production of Annual Accounts
• Managing the monthly payroll in collaboration with external payroll processors
• Overseeing generation of sales invoices with respect to milestones on projects and associated credit control
• Working closely with the CEO as a key member of the business facilitating the continued strategic growth and development
• Ensuring timely submission of all regulatory returns i.e. VAT, ERS, P11d
• Liaising with external bodies in relation to pensions, other employee benefits, and insurances.
• Main point of contact for banking and finance providers

Desired Skills and Experience

• Confident engaging with colleagues both internally and externally and work collaboratively across the company
• Previous, recent experience of working in a similar role
• CIMA/ACCA qualified
• Sage 50/200 experience advantageous

Salary and Benefits

• £60k to £70k salary
• 23 days Annual Leave plus Bank Holidays
