Finance Specialist

Venn Group is delighted to be partnered with a renowned broadcasting corporation to recruit a Finance Specialist for a 5 month interim assignment. This role focuses on IFRS 16 lease accounting, supporting compliance, contract assessment, and financial forecasting within a dynamic and high-value operating environment.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Provide technical expertise on IFRS 16 lease accounting and related cost treatment
• Review and assess contracts for lease implications in accordance with accounting standards
• Manage and maintain lease schedules, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting
• Ensure all lease activity complies with internal accounting policies and IFRS standards
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to communicate the financial impact of lease arrangements
• Support month-end and year-end processes related to lease accounting and disclosures

Ideal candidate profile:

• Qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA)
• Strong understanding of IFRS 16 lease accounting, including contract assessment and financial impact analysis
• Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with large datasets and financial models
• Effective communicator with the ability to present complex financial information to non-finance audiences
• Experience using SAP or a similar ERP system is advantageous but not essential

Duration: 5 months, subject to further extension

Pay rate: £225 - £300 per day (paid via an Umbrella company)

Working hours: Full time

Working pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
