Finance Systems Officer

Robertson Bell is delighted to be working with a respected public sector organisation in the search for a Finance Systems Officer on a 12-month contract. This is a hybrid role based in Swindon.

As Finance Systems Officer, you will work closely with the Financial Systems Manager to ensure the smooth operation and continual improvement of financial systems, primarily Integra and ExpenseMe Pro. You’ll play a key part in shaping reporting strategy, enhancing financial system functionality, and supporting end users across the business and shared services.

The Finance Systems Officer will be responsible for:

• Providing expert support across financial systems and their interfaces.
• Developing and maintaining high-quality financial and management reports using Crystal Reports, XQuery, and Excel.
• Interrogating the SQL database to resolve issues and identify improvement opportunities.
• Coordinating system disaster recovery testing.
• Driving system development projects, liaising with IT and third-party suppliers.
• Supporting audits with data provision and analysis.

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience supporting financial systems within a complex organisation.
• Strong technical reporting skills and experience with tools such as Crystal Reports and SQL.
• Sound financial acumen and the ability to analyse and manipulate large datasets with accuracy.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
• Strong team ethos and the ability to work proactively with minimal supervision.
