Finance Technician G5

Service Care Solutions are working alongside Lincolnshire County Council who are looking to recruit an experienced and professional Finance Technician to join their team on a temporary contract. Please find a description of the role below.

Role: Finance Technician
Rate: £13 to £16 per hour (PAYE exc.) / £16 to £17.72 per hour (umbrella/ltd)
Location: Lincoln
Contract: 3 months’ on going.
Working: 37 hours per week. (Hybrid following 2 week training period)

Role Overview:

• Main responsibilities cover credit control, income collection and adult care charges
• Assist in planning, monitoring, and reporting of revenue and capital budgets
• Advise on budget setting, pressures, monitoring, and outturn forecasts.
• Support financial reporting and identify areas of financial risk.
• Help develop systems to improve forecasting accuracy and financial control.
• Identify and monitor delivery of efficiency savings.
• Evaluate value for money using local and national data.
• Work with services to align resources with performance goals.
• Support planning and monitoring of grant usage.
• Assist in closure of accounts and ensure accurate year-end adjustments.
• Maintain accounts via virements, recharges, and journal entries.
• Contribute to capital project planning, service reviews, and major developments.Maintain general knowledge of financial regulations and best practices.
