ARM are delighted to be supporting one of our clients with the recruitment of a Financial Accountant on an initial 4 month basis.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Accounting, this role is responsible for the external financial reporting processes for the Agency including the production of the Annual Report and Accounts (ARA) and Department for Transport consolidation packs, working with finance colleagues and auditors to agree accounting treatments as necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure Finance processes are compliant with International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Responsible for the production of the financial statements.
• Responsible for the production of quarterly consolidation packs.
• Act as a key point of liaison between the client and External Audit, working closely with audit colleagues.
• Use effective professional judgement to ensure accounting treatment and reporting is appropriate and accurate.
• Ensure Non-Current Assets are correctly recognised, componentised and reported.
• Ensure any technical accounting adjustments, including provisions, impairments and write offs, are accurately assessed.
• Provide technical accounting advice and guidance in line with International Financial Reporting Standards.
• Ensure General Ledger control accounts are reconciled monthly, and Trial Balance is correctly reflected in management reporting.
• Ensure the leasing arrangements are correctly accounted for in line with IFRS16 Leases requirements.

Requirements:

• This role is suitable for someone who is qualified or part qualified, under one of the main five Consultative Committees of Accounting Bodies (CCAB) i.e. ACCA, CIPFA, ICAEW, ICAS CIMA or equivalent with relevant experience.
• Must have Technical Accounting experience.
• Relevant experience in a financial accounting or financial control role.
• Highly developed interpersonal and influencing skills.
• Highly proficient with Excel and able to deal with large datasets.
