Financial Accountant

Financial Accountant | Listed Consumer business | £50,000 - £65,000 | Hybrid | Bedford

JasperRose is partnering with an FMCG brand owned by a FTSE listed business, which is looking for a Interim Financial Accountant to join their team, working 2 days per week in their Bedford office. This role is a 3-6-month Fixed Term Contract with the potential for extension on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will oversee the compliance for financial reporting and legal regulations. This role will deputise as and when for the Financial Controller, so you will need the gravitas and ambition to be able to work within a demanding and fast-moving business with exposure to senior management.

Responsibilities Include:

• Overseeing the preparation of the month-end reporting including journals, accruals, prepayments and intercompany work

• Management of the balance sheet reconciliations

• Ownership of FX reconciliations

• Play a key part in the year-end audit including working as a main point of contact for the auditors

• Supporting with SOX reporting and ensuring compliance with GAAP for all financial reporting

• Supporting with a variety of projects including data governance and environmental reporting

Skill set required:

The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with experience of month-end and year-end reporting. Ideally, you will be practice trained or have experience working in industry. Experience working for a larger more complex business and within the consumer industry is also desirable. You must have excellent communications skills with the ability to interact with stakeholders at various levels, you will also thrive at working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
