Financial Accountant

We are seeking a qualified Financial Accountant to fulfil an interim contract (day rate) opportunity which has arisen to work with a leading global fintech.

The successful candidate will have a strong technical reporting and controls background and be used to supporting companies through the audit cycle and delivering improvements.

Location: London
Salary: Day rate £500-550 per day (inside IR35)

The company is in the middle of a transformation programme and therefore individuals need to be able to work well under pressure, in a fast-paced and changing environment.

The role will be focused on getting the financial accounting department operating efficiently and implementing processes and controls.
There will be elements of forensic and investigation, changing behaviours and mentalities on top of the day-to-day.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Work with the Transformation Director to ensure appropriate controls are implemented and adhered to.
• Collate, own, and track audit deliverables.
• Work with the Head of Finance to ensure audit deliverables & statutory accounts are completed.
• Preparation of the statutory reporting for regulated entities & subsidiaries under IFRS.
• Completing respective disclosures under IFRS.
• Partner with auditors and internal partners to provide relevant information for the audit.
• Liaising with tax advisors for submission of annual tax computations & returns.
• Provide additional reports/checks to strengthen internal controls around the statutory reporting process.

To be considered for this position, you will have/be:

• Fully Qualified ACA/ACCA/CA/CPA (or equivalent)
• IFRS Experience
• Experience in Financial Services/Fintech FCA Regulated Business
• 3+ years’ experience in an audit or financial accounting role, preferably with financial services exposure.
• Strong technical accounting experience in preparing financial statements with exposure to hedging, multi-currency, and financial instruments.
• Excellent communication skills and relationship building, with experience in working with auditors/tax advisors.
