Financial Accountant

Venn Group is delighted to be partnered with a renowned broadcasting corporation to recruit a Financial Accountant for a 5-month interim assignment. This role focuses on capital accounting and IFRS 16 lease reporting, supporting high-value projects and ensuring accurate financial reporting across the organisation.

Key responsibilities of the role:

• Lead on the accounting and financial reporting of capital expenditure, ensuring alignment with relevant accounting standards and internal policies
• Maintain and manage the fixed asset register, including processes for capitalisation, depreciation, impairments, and disposals
• Act as a finance business partner to operational teams, providing insightful analysis and commentary on capital spend versus forecast and budget
• Support the delivery of monthly and quarterly financial reports, including variance analysis and narrative for senior stakeholders
• Contribute to the enhancement of internal controls and the continuous improvement of financial processes related to capital projects and assets
• Assist with IFRS 16 lease accounting, ensuring accurate classification, valuation, and reporting of leases in line with audit and statutory requirements

Ideal candidate profile:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
• Solid understanding of capital accounting and fixed asset management within a complex organisation
• Strong analytical and Excel skills, with experience in financial modelling and data interpretation
• Confident communicator, able to explain complex financial information to non-finance stakeholders and collaborate across departments
• Prior experience using SAP or a similar ERP system is desirable but not essential

Pay rate: £225 - £300 per day (paid via an Umbrella company)

Working hours: Full time

Working pattern: Hybrid (2 days per week in the office)
