Interim Financial Accountant

Based in South East London, hybrid working

Length: 6 Months

Inside IR35

We are supporting a London Borough in their search for an experienced Financial Accountant with extensive Accounting experience and Local Government exposure to cover a role that require backfilling due to an internal secondment

Key Responsibilities of the Interim Financial Accountant:

• Support with Bank Reconciliations across the services
• Assist with VAT returns, which the Finance Manager will have oversight of to ensure quality and accuracy
• Posting Journals and checking that evidence provided to back up journal postings is sufficient
• Answering audit queries (ie. providing supporting evidence for transactions that the auditors sample test)
• Following a process to prepare the monthly VAT return
• Reconcile balance sheet codes
• Other ad hoc tasks as needed (e.g. Doing testing when there are changes/upgrades to systems)

Skills, experience and knowledge required of the Interim Financial Accountant:

• Strong Local Government Accounting experience
• Part or fully qualified accountant e.g. ACCA, CCAB, CIMA etc….
