Financial Analyst

Financial Analyst required for 12 months for a long-established world leading employer based in the Southampton area.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the tracking and posting of Accruals and Prepayments as part of the month-end close process.
• Collaborate with project managers on assets under construction to ensure accurate accounting entries are made.
• Post other month-end general ledger entries, including asset additions, depreciation, and disposals.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and ensure consistency with sub-ledgers.
• Provide support during financial audits and assist with auditor queries.
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of financial controls and procedures.
• Advise and educate stakeholders across the organization to ensure adherence to financial policies.
• Work closely with Finance Business Partners to ensure the accuracy of financial reporting.
• Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
• Assist in the planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes to align with organizational goals.

Required Experience and Skills:

• Proficient in advanced Excel functions.
• Ability to work independently while being an effective team player.
• ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualification is preferred; however, candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.
• Experience with Microsoft D365 is desirable but not essential.
• Familiarity with reporting solutions such as Power BI is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent analytical mindset with a focus on identifying and resolving data discrepancies.
