Finance Controls - Maternity Cover (Hybrid)

Dorset (Hybrid - 2-3 days in office) 9-12-month fixed-term contract

Talent Finance are working with a successful, growing group business based in the heart of Dorset with a friendly and inclusive culture, who are looking for an experienced Finance professional to cover a maternity leave. This is a hands-on and varied role, supporting financial control and reporting into the group.

You’ll be joining a collaborative, forward-thinking team in a business operating across a diversified services sector (with touchpoints across areas such as IT, digital services, and support infrastructure).

If you’re a qualified accountant or a highly experienced QBE, this role will offer the opportunity to step into a key finance position with hybrid working, strong handover, and plenty of variety day to day.

Key Responsibilities

• Support monthly management accounts and year-end preparation
• Maintain and monitor robust financial controls across the group
• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping, including AP/AR and bank reconciliations
• Prepare and submit VAT returns and support audit processes
• Work with internal teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and budget reporting
• Help implement process improvements and ensure financial data integrity
• Liaise with external accountants, suppliers, and internal stakeholders as needed

About You:

• Qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE with solid hands-on experience
• Strong working knowledge of Xero is essential
• Confident across the full finance cycle — from reconciliations to reporting
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and happy working in a fast-paced, dynamic business
• Comfortable working both independently and as part of a close-knit team
