Job Description - Financial Reporting Accountant

?? Location: Manchester (Hybrid)
?? Hours: Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours/week
?? Role: Financial Reporting Accountant (Qualified Accountant) 3 Month Fixed Contract With Extension.

The Role:

You'll lead a small finance team, ensuring accurate and timely production of management accounts and reporting across multiple business entities in the group. This includes overseeing month-end close, budgeting, forecasting, financial audits, and stakeholder reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

Produce and review financial and management accounts
Lead month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations
Oversee audit preparation and liaise with external auditors
Improve reporting processes and support financial compliance
Provide mentorship, coaching, and performance management for the finance team
Partner with non-financial stakeholders and contribute to strategic discussions

About You:

Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent)
Strong technical knowledge of accounting standards (e.g. IFRS, FRS 102)
Confident team leader with a proven track record in people development
Excellent Excel skills and attention to detail
Strong communicator who can explain financial information to all levels
