Food Technology Technician - Secondary School - Wirral - September Start
Full-Time | Long-Term Contract | Up to £100 per day

Tradewind Recruitment are looking for a Food Technology Technician to join a welcoming secondary school in the Wirral from September 2025. This is a full-time, long-term school technician job running until at least October half-term - with the potential to continue until the school appoints a permanent Food Technology Technician.

This role would suit someone with school technician, food preparation, or catering assistant experience who is food hygiene trained and confident working in a busy school environment.

Food Technology Technician - Role Overview:

• Support the Food Technology Department in day-to-day running of lessons.
• Prepare ingredients and specialist cooking equipment for practical lessons.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness in food preparation areas.
• Order, store, and manage stock of food and materials.
• Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging Food Technology lessons.
• Comply with all Food Hygiene, Health & Safety, and school policies.

Essential Criteria for the Food Technology Technician:

• Food hygiene certification (essential).
• Previous experience as a Food Technology Technician, school technician, or in a catering/kitchen environment.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

• Contract Type: Full-time, Monday to Friday
• Pay Rate: Up to £100 per day (depending on experience)
• Duration: Until October half-term (with potential to extend)
