Job Description - FREELANCE - Account Director, Social & Digital - Global Communications Agency

We’re looking for a forward-thinking Digital Account Director to join our London team. This is a key client-facing role for a strategic digital thinker with deep platform knowledge and a passion for earned-led digital storytelling. You will lead integrated programmes across sectors — with a strong focus on corporate communications — blending social media, influencer engagement, paid strategy, content development, and data insight to shape reputation, manage issues, elevate executive visibility, and drive measurable outcomes.

The Role


This is an interim role (c. 3 months), where you will work closely with senior leadership to develop and execute integrated communications for pharma clients.


The team 


Our digital practice combines specialists across strategy, paid media, social, content, influencer marketing and design. Together, we bring ideas to life with smart, audience-led thinking and bold creative. Working closely with client teams across the business, we develop communications that are insight-driven, strategically sound and creatively lead.


The work


We partner with clients to lead their digital communications strategy – whether it's building brand awareness, enhancing reputation, navigating digital issues or driving audience engagement. From social-first content and influencer partnerships to crisis response and performance media, we create digital ecosystems that complement earned media and keep pace with the evolving communications landscape.


Key Responsibilities


Client Leadership



  • Serve as a senior digital advisor to clients and internal client teams, building strong relationships and providing high-value counsel.

  • Lead day-to-day digital programmes across priority accounts.

  • Ensure excellence across all client deliverables, from strategy to execution.


Strategic Planning and Execution



  • Design and implement integrated digital strategies across paid, earned, social and owned channels.

  • Guide content planning and oversee creation of platform-appropriate assets.

  • Champion the role of analytics in shaping campaign decisions and evaluating success.


Team Management and Development



  • Line-manage and mentor junior team members, promoting a supportive, collaborative and inclusive growth-oriented environment.

  • Lead internal upskilling and best practice sharing across the agency.

  • Support resource planning, project workflow and team wellbeing.


Business Development



  • Contribute to new business pitches and proposals, bringing smart insights and creative ideas.

  • Help identify growth opportunities within existing accounts, driving innovation in digital delivery.

  • Represent the agency in digital thought leadership, both internally and externally.


 


Eligibility 


You must have the right to work in the UK and be able to work in our Bankside office at least 3 days p/week
