Your new role

My client are seeking a proactive and experienced Freelance Assistant Site Manager to support the delivery of a high-profile college refurbishment project in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a respected contractor with a strong reputation for quality and safety in the education sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Site Manager in overseeing day-to-day site operations
• Coordinate subcontractors and ensure work is completed to programme
• Monitor health & safety compliance and maintain site records
• Support with site inductions, toolbox talks, and quality checks
• Liaise with the project team, suppliers, and college representatives
• Help manage logistics, deliveries, and site cleanliness

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience in a similar role within construction, ideally on refurbishment or education projects
• SMSTS or SSSTS certification
• CSCS card
• First Aid at Work (preferred)
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
