Freelance Operations Manager - Highways

Your new company
You will be joining a forward-thinking and innovative Tier 1 contractor who are a leading provider of full life-cycle engineering. They are heavily involved within the Highways industry and are a principal contractor on the Area 7 National Highways Maintenance and Repair contract, which involves low-value but high-volume schemes such as drainage, street lighting and vegetation clearance.

Your new role
You will be working as a Senior PM/Operations Manager on the National Highways Area 7 Maintenance and Repair contract. You will be heavily involved in client liaison whilst line managing 6 Project Managers from each depot across the East Midlands. Furthermore, you will develop delivery plans for projects and ensure objectives are met, such as health and safety costs and budget restraints, whilst producing monthly reports including project programmes etc.

What you'll need to succeed
In order to succeed, you will have experience on National Highways projects working as a Senior Project Manager or Operations Manager. For this role in particular, they are looking for a confident individual who is comfortable in a client-facing role and who can come up with innovative solutions to problems. Furthermore, you will have the correct qualifications, such as CSCS Black Card and SMSTS.
