Freelance Product Designer

This agency is looking for a Senior Product Designer to lead and deliver polished, scalable UI and design systems across digital products.

• Title: Freelance Senior Product Designer (UI & Systems)

• Start: As soon as possible (next few weeks)

• Length: 2 months with a view to go permanent.

• Client: Digital agency

• Day rate: £350 per day

• IR35: Outside IR35 (clients specified to invoice through an Umbrella or Limited Company, not a Sole Trader)

• Work set-up: Hybrid (Mandatory 3 days in-office (Tuesday, Wednesday + Thursday)

• Location: Central London

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with UX, development, strategy, and brand teams throughout project lifecycles.

• Build and maintain robust design systems using atomic principles and design tokens.

• Design accessible, high-quality interfaces for web, mobile, and emerging platforms.

• Deliver high-fidelity designs and interactive prototypes in Figma, ProtoPie, or Play.

• Translate complex requirements into clear, user-centred design solutions.

• Present and explain design decisions to internal teams and clients.

• Apply interaction and motion design to elevate user experiences.

• Use AI tools to improve workflow and ideation.

• Contribute to workshops and sprints.

• Mentor junior designers.

Requirements

• Experience using motion, micro-interactions, and prototyping tools (e.g. ProtoPie, Play).

• Strong portfolio showcasing UI craft, systems thinking, and user-centred design.

• Knowledge of accessibility and inclusive design best practices.

• Deep experience with Figma and design system creation.

• Comfortable using AI to support the creative process.

• Familiar with Agile and Waterfall workflows.
