About the role

We are seeking a committed and capable General Cover Teacher for a full-time role in a thriving secondary school in Leeds, beginning September 2025. This is a fantastic opportunity for a versatile professional to work across a wide variety of subjects, supporting student learning while permanent teachers are off-timetable.

• A recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) or equivalent
• A current Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Experience teaching or supporting in a secondary setting

Responsibilities:

• Delivering pre-set lessons in the absence of the class teacher
• Managing behaviour in line with school policy
• Ensuring student safety and safeguarding at all times
• Building rapport quickly with different classes
• Maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment
• Providing feedback to relevant staff after lessons
• Monitoring and recording student progress
• Liaising with department heads as needed
• Acting as a role model for professional conduct
• Encouraging student participation and focus
• Reflecting and acting on feedback from senior leaders
