Job Description - General Ledger

On behalf of our client, a leading organisation based in High Wycombe, we are seeking a meticulous and motivated General Ledger Accountant to join their finance team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role is ideal for a candidate who thrives in a dynamic environment and is looking to contribute to a high-performing finance function during a period of transformation.

Description

  • Manage and maintain general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Prepare and post journal entries in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to support month-end and year-end processes.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports as required.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure proper documentation and approvals for transactions.
  • Support audits by providing requested documentation and clarifications.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities within the general ledger function.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and financial regulations at all times.

Profile

A successful General Ledger professional should have:

  • Relevant qualifications in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Experience working with general ledger systems and accounting software.
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines under pressure.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other relevant tools.
  • Understanding of financial regulations and compliance standards.

Job Offer
