Are you a passionate and resilient individual looking to make a real difference in the lives of young people with special educational needs (SEN)? We are a small, nurturing secondary SEN school dedicated to providing high-quality education and care for our students, and we're looking for a General Teaching Assistant to join our team this September.

As a General Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers and other support staff to provide tailored learning support, manage classroom behaviour, and help create a positive, inclusive environment where every student can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with a range of special educational needs (including ASD, SEMH, ADHD)

• Assist in delivering individual and group learning activities

• Provide behaviour support in line with the school’s ethos and policies

• Help maintain a safe, engaging, and inclusive classroom environment

• Work collaboratively with the wider school team, families, and external professionals

We’re seeking a caring, enthusiastic, and resilient individual who is committed to supporting young people with SEN.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEN (desirable but not essential)

• Team Teach training or similar positive behaviour support training (preferred)

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

• A calm, patient, and proactive approach to supporting behaviour

• A flexible, team-focused attitude
