Job Description - German Speaking Customer Service Agent

German Speaking Customer Service Agent

Location: Hockley, Essex

Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience

Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (30-minute lunch break)

Language Requirement: Must be fluent in German – daily communication with German-speaking customers is essential

Role Overview:

Our client is looking for a fluent German-speaking Customer Service Agent to join their team in Hockley. This role involves providing high-quality support to customers via telephone and email, resolving queries efficiently, and ensuring a professional and friendly service is delivered at all times.

The ideal candidate will be a confident communicator, highly organised, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and spoken German is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Customer Communication & Support

  • Respond promptly to telephone and email enquiries in line with company standards
  • Resolve customer queries efficiently, providing accurate product and warranty information
  • Escalate customer safety incidents as per client procedures
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of products and procedures
  • Contribute to process improvements and customer service enhancements

2. Data Entry & Internal Processes

  • Log all calls and emails accurately into the internal reporting systems
  • Update internal knowledge base and company website as required
  • Organise product returns and manage associated administrative tasks

3. General Administrative Support

  • Carry out ad hoc tasks as requested by management
  • Take responsibility for daily team tasks and contribute to smooth day-to-day operations

Key Skills & Requirements:

  • Fluent in German (written and spoken)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn internal systems
  • Detail-oriented with strong data entry and organisational skills
  • Proactive, flexible, and able to work independently or as part of a team
