Job Description:

Are you an aspiring secondary school teacher looking to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic classroom environment? A supportive and inclusive secondary school in Tower Hamlets, East London is seeking enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for recent graduates who are considering a career in education and planning to apply for a PGCE or teacher training course in the future. The role offers full-time, term-time experience working directly with students and experienced educators.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide in-class support to teachers across a range of subjects at Key Stages 3 and 4

Work 1:1 or in small groups to assist students with varying needs and abilities

Support the school's Learning Support Department to improve pupil engagement and attainment

Help with classroom preparation, behaviour management, and lesson delivery

Encourage positive learning behaviours and contribute to the wider school community

Requirements:

A degree in any subject (strong preference for candidates interested in teaching)

Experience working with young people in a paid or voluntary setting (e.g. tutoring, mentoring, youth work, school volunteering, sports coaching, or overseas teaching)

A genuine passion for education and a desire to pursue a career in teaching

Confident communication skills and a proactive, enthusiastic approach

Willingness to undertake (or currently hold) an enhanced DBS check
