Graduate Teaching Assistant - Primary Schools (Harrow Borough)
Location: London Borough of Harrow
Start Date: September 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Term Time Only
Salary: £90 per day (via PAYE)
Hours: 8:15am - 3:45pm, Monday to Friday

Are you a graduate looking to gain valuable classroom experience before starting a PGCE, School Direct or teacher training programme?

This is an excellent opportunity for graduates with a passion for education to gain hands-on experience in schools. Whether you're interested in working in Early Years, Key Stage 1 (KS1), Key Stage 2 (KS2), or supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEND), we can help place you in a role that suits your preferences.

• Full-time, Monday to Friday during term time only

• Paid £90 per day via PAYE - no umbrella company fees

• Based across a variety of primary schools in the London Borough of Harrow

• Roles include:

  • Whole-class support

  • Small group interventions

  • 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs or SEND

• A recent graduate (all subjects considered) with a genuine interest in primary education

• Considering a career in teaching, educational psychology, or SEND support

• Demonstrates strong communication skills, adaptability, and a proactive mindset

• Shows a nurturing and patient approach with children of varying abilities

• Has experience working or volunteering with children (desirable, not essential)

• Keen to gain experience in Early Years, KS1, KS2, or SEND-focused settings

• Insight into the day-to-day life of a primary school classroom

• Mentorship from experienced teachers and school leadership teams

• Exposure to a range of teaching strategies and pupil needs

• A strong foundation for teacher training applications in 2026

• Ongoing support from SANZA and access to relevant CPD opportunities
