The primary scope involves the excavation of approximately 800 mm deep service trenches, installation of multi-utility cables, and subsequent backfill and reinstatement works. You will operate modern 13–20 tonne 360 excavators in a live construction environment with strict quality, safety, and security standards. Key Responsibilities Safely excavate 800 mm deep trenches to exact line and level Install and bed multi-utility cables, ducts, and associated infrastructure Work in accordance with method statements, risk assessments, and permit-to-dig systems Maintain high standards of housekeeping and environmental compliance on a nuclear-licensed site Communicate effectively with site managers, banksmen, and cable installation teams Adhere to all AWE site security, safety standards Essential Requirements SSSTS and CSCS Previous experience as a Groundworks working supervisor Full UK driving licence Ability to pass AWE security vetting (BPSS minimum; higher clearance may be required – process supported by employer) Previous experience working on secure, regulated, or MOD/AWE sites is highly advantageous SSSTS or SMSTS (for potential chargehand progression) Experience with 800 mm+ deep trenching and cable laying What We Offer Competitive hourly rate + Saturday overtime (premium rates) 10 paid hours per day Mon–Fri Long-term continuity (12 months + extensions) Tier 1 contractor benefits package (pension, holiday pay, overtime, possible bonus scheme) Full induction, site-specific training, and PPE provided Opportunity to work on one of the UK’s most secure and technically challenging sites To Apply Please send your CV, copy of CSCS card, and availability.
