Group Financial Controller

Job Title: Group Financial Controller (6-Month FTC – High Potential to Go Permanent)
Location: Uxbridge (Hybrid – 2 Days on Site per Week)
Sector: PE-Backed SME Manufacturing
Salary: £110,000 - £120,000 per annum + bonus and benefits
Start Date: ASAP

I'm currently working exclusively with a PE-backed SME manufacturing business based in Uxbridge, who are looking to bring in an experienced Group Financial Controller on an initial 6-month fixed term contract, with a strong likelihood of the role becoming permanent.

About the Role
The Group Financial Controller will play a key role in supporting the finance function through a period of transition. The focus will be on cash management, group consolidations, reviewing company performance, and managing the year-end process. While there are no direct reports, the role requires strong stakeholder engagement – working closely with both internal teams and external advisors, including auditors and investors.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on cash flow forecasting and cash management across the group.
• Manage the preparation of consolidated financial statements.
• Review monthly financials and provide high-level analysis and insight.
• Oversee and coordinate the year-end audit and production of statutory accounts.
• Act as a key liaison between the business and external stakeholders, including PE investors and auditors.
• Support the finance function through change initiatives, process improvements, and systems enhancements.
• Ensure adherence to financial governance and internal controls.

What They’re Looking For

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
• Strong experience in SME or PE-backed environments
• Hands-on experience with cash flow, consolidations, and year-end processes.
• A confident communicator who can manage relationships across multiple stakeholders and functions.
• Someone comfortable navigating change and ambiguity, and who can operate both strategically and tactically.
• Available on short notice or immediately.
